By John Barefoot, project manager, Carter

ATLANTA (Feb. 17, 2011) – Carter has completed the Laboratory Annex Building at Clayton State University.  Construction began on the building in November 2009 and the new two-story construction is 18,000-square-feet of classrooms, science labs and a psychology clinic.  The $4.9 million project also included mechanical remediation to the existing Business and Health Science Building that is located next door.

Clayton The new building helps meet the needs of Clayton State’s growing student population and provides the university with additional lab and classroom space.

This project marks the third project Carter has completed for the university since 2006.  We finished a student activities center and student housing project in 2007 and 2008, respectively.   Carter is currently in the design phase of its fourth project for the institution that entails a new 62,000-square-foot science building next to the recently completed Laboratory Annex Building.
