“What energy and excitement!,” said Carter’s senior vice president of Development, Patti Neal. “Carter’s Highpoint on Columbus Commons project got front row seats to the festivities on Friday evening and ride start on Saturday morning. It was such a great event to be a part of!”
The Columbus Dispatch reported, “On Saturday, more than 6,700 people from all over the country rode the bike tour through central Ohio, and every dollar they raised will go to the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital at OSU.”
Pelotonia is an annual event that raises money for cancer research. Cyclists raise money in order to participate in rides ranging in distance from 25 to 180 miles. 100% of the funds raised by the event go to the Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute at The Ohio State University. Over the past weekend, 6,722 riders participated, raising close to $11.5 million. That pushes the total funds raised by Pelotonia to over $53 million in the last five years.
