ATLANTA (Jan. 7, 2009) – Sustainable Atlanta Executive Director Lynnette Young will deliver the keynote speech at a daylong green building seminar to be held later this month.
The seminar, Building Green: Reduce the Risks; Reap the Rewards , will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 26 at the Westin Buckhead at 3391 Peachtree Road. Carter Senior Vice President Bill Morrison will be one of three green real estate experts on “Planning Green – From Dream to Reality” panel.
Young, who served served as the city of Atlanta’s chief operations officer for five years under former Mayor Shirley Franklin, was appointed to head Sustainable Atlanta’s efforts about three years ago. Young, pictured at left with Sustainable Atlanta PR coordinator Laura Thomas (right), also is CEO of Damespointe Consulting.
Sustainable Atlanta is spearheading the effort to get Atlanta to adopt a sustainable building ordinance. A bill introduced last year was shelved in December.
You can register for the seminar here. If you sign up on or before Jan. 15, the cost is $175. After Jan. 15, the cost increases to $200. The program is approved for CLE and AIA credit.
