Enid Public Schools
With a growing student population, Enid Public Schools faced an increased need to alleviate school overcrowding while also updating their existing facilities. They selected Carter to assist in this strategic master planning process. Carter developed long range student enrollment forecasts, by schools and by grade levels, for the 10-year period from 2008 through 2017. Additionally, the team performed detailed school facility condition assessments that were used to create budgets on a school-by-school basis.
Using the projected schools enrollments and detailed budgets for each school, a long-range facility master plan was developed that addressed the growing student population while correcting the numerous needs within each school. After an exhaustive community engagement process where each facility option was presented in detail to district constituents, a long range facility master plan developed that addressed the growing student population while correcting the numerous needs within each school.
This long-range facility master plan called for a district wide reconfiguration of schools to model grades K-5, 6-8 and 9-12 school district. The plan called for one new elementary school, a new replacement elementary school to replace an aging school, and numerous other additions and renovations at every other school facility in the district.
